November 28-30, 2014
About a week before Thanksgiving break, Jim saw an SPG “experience” online that we decided we had to have. It was a chance to take a dance lesson from the Radio City Rockettes. After bidding and waiting we won! The lesson was for TWO so, who else would we ask to go, but Natalies dance buddy Emily and her mom, Jennifer.
We wanted to surprise the girls so we told them that we were going to wake up early to go Black Friday shopping. We woke up bright and early and Mike, Jennifer, Emily and Paige came over. We “broke it” to the girls that we were not going Black Friday shopping, but that we were going to New York. They did not give us the excited response we wanted, Emily said “SNAZZY!”. So, Mike drove us to Love Field (since there was no parking) and we got in quickly, got some breakfast and boarded the flight. We landed early, took uber to the hotel. We stayed at the Hilton Times Square which was easy to get to. We had a regular room, but got free breakfast. The first thing we did was walk to Times Square and see what shows were available for half price. We got tickets to see “On the Town”, an old fashioned Broadway show with lots of singing and dancing. The rest of the day we visited parks and Christmas markets. It was really COLD so, we stayed bundled up. The show was GREAT and luckily right across the street from our hotel. We enjoyed walking around Macy’s, Chelsea Market, up 5th avenue and the upper east side.
On Sunday, it was time to go the Rockettes. We were backstage in Radio City Musical Hall. Two Rockettes taught about 15 people parts of two different dances that they use in the show. Our girls were definitley the best in the room. J
After our hour long lesson, we went back to the hotel to pack up and made it back just in time for the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular Show. It was a great show.
We flew home and arrived back in Dallas around 9pm, just in time to get to bed so we could go to work on Monday…..
