7/23/16 – 7/24/16
The Rangers were playing a weekend series in Kansas City, so Trey and I thought that’d be a good time to knock another stadium off of our list. We had an early flight to Kansas City on Southwest. We arrived at 7:00 am and took the airport shuttle to the Kansas City Airport Hilton. We tried to check in, but our room wasn’t ready yet. We went to the gym and the pool for a few hours while they were cleaning rooms. They were still doing breakfast, so we ate at the buffet. When it was ready, we went to the room and napped and watched TV for a few hours. When it was close to game time, we took an Uber to the stadium. It is really out in the middle of nowhere and shares a parking lot with Arrowhead stadium, where the Chiefs play football. There wasn’t much to do or see around the stadium, so we sat down in some shade. It was really hot and there wasn’t much shade around. I asked Blake for some tickets, so we had to wait for them to become available at Will Call.
Once inside, Trey tried to get some autographs. They weren’t doing batting practice because it was a day game and it was so hot. We explored the stadium. It’s older, but had been renovated a few years back. There were some neat features, like a mini golf course. Our seats were about 15 rows behind the Rangers dugout. I has having tooth and tummy problems, so I didn’t eat much at the ballpark. Trey got the usual hot dog and ice cream in a helmet.
We Ubured back to the hotel and spent the night. We flew out early the next morning and made it back in time for church.
